Letter to Me: Stopping to Celebrate

Dear Sweet Audi,

It can be so easy to circle and circle around all the hard things in life. Especially when we are pursuing soul transformation. Can you just stop and celebrate a few victories?

This week was all about God giving you redemptive perspective on life’s little moments of suffering. And you grabbed on tightly to His life-saving perspective.

Intense feelings of loneliness surprised you again this week. You cried to your husband about having to start over with making friends and how you feel so, so weary of the process. But instead of doubting your value, you quietly and confidently said,

“I think I’m worth knowing…”

This is beautiful truth, darling girl. And so, so far from where you were in the past. The best part is that you said it from your heart, from the deepest place of belief within you.

That indeed is worth celebrating.

There was a moment you thought was your absolute demise – where you thought your sensitivity had gotten the best of you. But you, gentle warrior, didn’t stay in that place of negative self talk. You didn’t cash in your chips and buy into the idea that your sensitivity is your weakness. Instead, you allowed God to remind you how He wants to take that perceived weakness and dazzle the world as He turns it into His strength.

Can’t you just imagine all the sparkles He is going to set on display as you continue to hand Him your weaknesses?

You got down at one point, feeling like you’re “behind” in life. Like somehow you’ve missed the boat. Thinking you’re supposed to be further along at your age than you are. But Audi! Let me remind you…You did not stay there! You felt the sinking, grey, depressed feelings start to wash over you at such a gloomy thought. And you FOUGHT sweet girl! You allowed God’s Word to encourage your heart through the random verse card you had sitting in the cup-holder of your car:

“For the Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zephaniah 3:17

Beautiful girl, do you see?

Do you see the moments you won this week?

Do you see how you loved yourself in little ways?

Do you see how you stood up for yourself and fought?

Do you see how you are REALLY believing you are who God says you are?

You are His beautiful princess. His daughter. His love. His joy. His delight.

Sit in these victories sweet girl. Let them strengthen you today.

Always, always tenderly FOR you,
